Preview: Halloween 2009

We LOVE Halloween. I have soo many fond memories as a child of being able to dress up as whatever I wanted to and just have fun. It was even fun as I got older being able to go to parties all dressed up. It's becoming more fun as an adult to watch Ivy get excited about it as well!

This year we debated for weeks about what Ivy was going to be- and if we should do something as a group. Since we've been together Phil and I have been able to coordinate our outfits. This year- I happened upon an adorable cow costume in size 2T for Ivy on Craigslist for $7 . It also happened that they were selling two adult costumes to go with it for $5 each... I emailed Phil who said "Go for it!" and emailed them and got all three costumes for $15. I had to make some horns/ears for Phil and I but that was a couple of dollars of headbands (that Ivy can use later) and some pieces of felt. All in all not a bad deal...

We had to have it all ready last night because Phil's school had a costume party for the kids/adults. They had cookie decorating, crafts, a bean bag toss, trick or treating, pin the nose on the Jack o' Lantern and Pumpkin bowling.

The video is of Ivy pumpkin bowling. She didn't quite get the concept... ;) But who could resist a little cow! I love the way her tail wiggles!

So here's a preview of things to come!

Fall Leaves

Due to the freezing weather we've had the last few weeks the leaves have begun to change colors and fall off early. We both love watching the leaves change so we decided to take a trip up past Woodland Park on hwy 67. We made it all the way up to Cripple Creek. While there we checked out their visitors center. We'll have to go back another day- sooo many cool things to do for free there!

We were only gone a couple of hours but it was amazing the beautiful leaves we got to see...

Here's some fun pictures from our day trip!
