February Odds and Ends
Dean sleeping on Phil.
We had a great snowstorm- so we had to get the kiddos out. Dean started walking at the beginning of this month- so he was a little wobbly in the snow!
Ivy loved making snow angels.
We finally made it to the temple! Hopefully we'll be able to go more this year.
For Presidents Day I came up with the genius idea to have the kids make a log cabin... with graham crackers. They were more interested in eating the peanut butter instead...
Dean tends to fall asleep in random places..
Ivy and her friend Lily building cars at Lowes.
Hope you had a fun filled February!

Hanging in PJs
Sometimes while eating Dad's Captain Crunch...
or sharing a package of raisins
smiling
staring deeply in thought
snuggling your sibling with "little" eyes
or playing with your new favorite toy.
Here's to fun in PJ's!

Phil builds a chair...
For a LONG time I've been following an awesome DIY blog http://ana-white.com/
She's a stay-at-homemaker who used to have a furniture building business. Now she dissects plans for fancy name brand furniture and makes it easy to build. There's my plug!
I've been talking to Phil about it for months and one night he finally got on her blog- and stayed until 4am! He got super excited about building your own stuff- and found the plans for this great chair.
It was a wonderful starter project for him since he's been interested in woodworking. He keeps learning new ideas.
Grats Phil!

A "Belle" For a Day
Ivy received an invitation to her first dress-up Princess birthday party. Since she had recieved Belle for Christmas- her desire was to be Belle for the party! I was unsure how to pull off a Belle dress since I didn't have any dress-up clothes for her and I didn't want to buy one!

Luckily I remembered I had a beautiful yellow dress I had worn when I was 7 in my Aunt Melissa's wedding as a flower girl. I had to take in the dress a little- and I added some ruffly pleats on the front- but it was PERFECT.
Ivy was thrilled. See the regal pose? :D
She had TONS of fun hanging out with the other "princesses." Another girl was dressed up as Belle- so she and Ivy became fast friends!
It's times like these that I'm grateful for my ability to sew- and that my daughter can wear my dresses!

St. Valentines...
We had a lot of fun with Valentines this year...
I made Phil these AWESOME iPod boxes with a tutorial I found online and instead of filling them with Sweethearts
Ivy got her usual Love duck from her Daddy (and got herself dressed)
I heart attacked the house the night before- the kids were sooo excited!
We were given the puppets from a friend- so they made it as some little Valentine's gifts from the Momma.
And being after my own heart we had chocolate/strawberry heart pancakes

Can you not help but smile at those faces?
And to top off our shopping trip- after the Dean fell asleep, Ivy and I hit up Sonic's happy hour- mmmmm. :D
Hope your Valentine's was as tasty as ours!

A bun at Sam's
I've found that my favorite store to take the kids to is Sam's. They get a snack- there are LOTS of things to look at, all of the items are too huge for them to pull off the shelves, and did I mention they get snacks?
Today was burger day- only the kids didn't want the burger part- just the bun. And the sweet guy- gave them a whole bun. Pretty happy kiddos...
