What's your plan?

My sweet hubby is an English teacher at a high school here in town and I get the wonderful job of staying at home with our two terrific kiddos. We just celebrated our 6th anniversary this last week (YAHH) and got talking about our future... There's no better time than the present to start saving and planning for it. We came up with some plans and started to re-evaluate our spending habits. Being the one at home- I got to take a long hard look at our grocery and household budgets! There's SOOO much I could be saving! So I started looking around online and came up with some AMAZING resources-
1. A lot of the blogs I have linked "Fun Blogs I Read" include DIY tutorials for having gorgeous things in your home and for your kids by spending a FRACTION of the new price. They also have a lot of recycling ideas and upcycling! I love it!
2. Maybe growing up in California influenced my love of environmentally friendly products but my accounting major father has influenced my budget! I've recently been a little nervous about my kids getting into cabinets loaded with chemicals. I'm not quite ready to switch to homemade detergent though... :) I found these great sites as references
Earth Easy Care
Mormon Chic Homemade Cleaners
3. I try to watch sales and coupons and what not... I'm trying to meal plan (I've got a friend who has categorized each meal by cost and then planned!) My last cool thing I've found recently is this blog which I've included a link to.

31 Days to a Better Grocery Budget

So how do you save money? I love seeing what you all can do with what you have- isn't that how we should!? Thanks for listening to my ramblings- More pics soon!

Disneyland Part 2: Dean as Buzz Lightyear

A couple of months before we took Ivy to Disneyland for the first time- I found this adorable Minnie Mouse costume on Craigslist. Ivy was the hit at the park. We had people asking to take pictures with her becuase she was soo cute.

So being the MOM I am, I had to do the same thing for Dean. I had tossed around ideas- like removing the bows from the Minnie costume and sewing a felt bottom to make him Mickey- when I found Buzz Lightyear pjs at Wal-Mart.

So Dean was Buzz... I love these pics when Dean got to meet Buzz- I just love the act that Buzz was doing in meeting himself in baby form!

Disneyland Part 1: Meeting the Characters

Time for the Disneyland posts!

Ivy had such a fun time meeting the characters- She'd run up to them and want to hug and talk to them. I was so proud of her!
